Most of what Viska does happens on your own device. Here is exactly what that means.
On your Mac
The Mac app transcribes 100% on your device using Apple’s Neural Engine. No audio, no text and no metadata leaves your computer. No account, no telemetry.
On iPhone
The iPhone app transcribes on your device using Apple’s speech recognition, with an optional Swedish Whisper model for higher accuracy. Audio and text never leave your phone, and nothing is sent to Ideäng or any speech service.
iCloud sync
iCloud sync is off by default. If you turn it on, your notes are stored in your own iCloud account via Apple’s CloudKit. We run no sync server of our own and have no routine access to your data.
Purchases
Purchases and subscriptions are handled by Apple and RevenueCat. They process an anonymous purchase identifier and purchase status, never your recordings or text, and never for advertising.
No analytics
No third-party tracking, no analytics tools, no advertising.
Permissions
Microphone (active only while you are dictating) and, on Mac, accessibility permission to paste text. Nothing else.
