IdunCut is local-first: editing and export happen on your device, with no ads, tracking or analytics services. Its network features are described clearly below.
No tracking or analytics
The editor itself has no advertising, tracking, telemetry or third-party analytics. An Idun Blue account is needed only if you choose the optional Idun Blue handoff.
Everything happens on your machine
Cutting, effects, export, auto-cut, auto-reframe and the default caption workflow run locally. Your media does not leave the device unless you explicitly choose the Idun Blue handoff or configure an external AI service yourself.
Your projects stay with you
Projects and imported working copies are stored locally in the app’s own storage. You control the originals, exports and when local projects are deleted. IdunCut has no automatic cloud sync.
Optional Idun Blue handoff
On Mac, after an explicit connection, you can sign in securely to Idun Blue and send a finished video, cover, and the title, text and destination details you selected to a chosen workspace as a draft. The access token is stored in Keychain and can be disconnected in the app. Uploaded material is handled by Idunblue AB under the privacy policy at idun.blue/privacy.
Models and music catalogue
When you choose to install local captioning, the speech model is downloaded from Hugging Face. The music screen may fetch catalogue data and selected tracks from IdunCut’s CDN, while bundled music remains available offline. These ordinary file requests expose your IP address to the service; video and project content are not included.
Apple's speech recognition
Where the app uses Apple's built-in speech recognition it does so strictly on-device — we require on-device mode (requiresOnDeviceRecognition), so no audio is sent to Apple.
